NPCs Non-player Characters are in-game characters that players can interact with in various ways and have unique identities, unlike most monsters. NPCs are responsible fortraining beginners, teaching skills, maintaining shops, and providing quests, Part-time Jobs, and other necessities e.

All playable characters with the exception of characters played in RP dungeons are also classified as Milletians. A Travel Diary is a notebook located on the right side of the conversation panel. Using Keywords, players can speak to an NPC to strike up a conversation.

Depending on the keyword used, the NPC will provide information or hints of a certain topic, skills, quests, part-time jobs, and add or take away new keywords to the diary.

The NPC's response may also change due to various events e. Through long-term interaction, whether it is from repeatedly talking to the NPC, offering gifts, doing part-time jobs, or completing certain quests, NPCs can develop fondness for players. Conversely, NPCs' intimacy will fall over time through a conversation or gifts the NPC does not like or a hiatus of communication, and players are soon forgotten; this can be prevented by regularly visiting the NPC. Some NPCs have retained memorable moments in their lives in the form of treasured commonplace objects, like a locket or a dagger.

These RP role-play items are activated once dropped on the altar of specific dungeons, allowing a player to relive the past in the NPC's viewpoint.

Some accounts of NPCs' memories will differ from the viewpoint of others. By developing greater intimacy with NPCs, meeting specific requirements, or progressing through the Mainstream Quests, players can obtain these RP items.

These are generally accessible NPCs a player can meet without having to do the mainstream story or associated side quests. Some mainstream NPCs can be met by a player who has not yet done or has completed the appropriate mainstream story. This is usually done with the assistance of another player who has already gained access to these NPCs or joining the party of a player doing a mainstream quest.

However, this does not make them generally accessible NPCs, they are still considered mainstream NPCs as someone had to do the appropriate mainstream story to initially gain access and these NPCs main function is to be part of that mainstream story. These are the mainstream NPCs that are only met during the mainstream story.

That is, for each Generation, the only NPCs listed are those appearing for the first time in the game and that appear only in the mainstream story.

Some mainstream NPCs can be met by a player who has not done the appropriate mainstream story. Strangely enough if you rebirth and pick Iria you will spawn at Vena and can do the beginner quests.

The main site is way outdated, just fyi. I have played for 6 years. I can't even play games like WOW after this. Most of these games seem to have a brain dead combat system where you just press buttons and repeat the same animation are two over and over again. Mabi has an ebb and flow to the combat and you have to really develop techniques for fighting things.

There is also a level of freedom in developing your character that other games with strict class systems do not have. Not to mention it is free to play. It all comes down to the fact that most others arent free enough. They limit your choices, and just like in real life the more options you have the better. Just with an option in the party options to either use the server hosting or peer hosting. And fix all those obvious desync issues like teleporting all over the raft while trying to charge thunder, or enemies being out of sync and beating the crap out of you while you're client tries to figure out exactly where they are.

I'm glad Mabi 2 got canned ALL they need to do to make the game work is fix the issues under the hood. Graphics improvements are optional, but nice icing on the cake, and they need to design the game from the ground up around all the combat styles, instead of the haphazard application we have now where Alchemy and above completely breaks the game wide open with each new skill set trivializing everything content that came before it.

Vindictus is Mabinogi:Heroes, a spin-off prequel that completely removes the sandbox and instead puts you into the a role of specific hero following the pre-Erinn history of the game hence the actual name in every country except the US leading up to the first Fomor war, before the Tuatha de Danan fled to the paradise of Tir Na Nogh.
