Before the launch, Killzone 2 trailer had everyone surprised and it was an instant hit too. The graphics and gameplay in the trailer were so ridiculously good, it sent massive shockwaves, so much so that it was speculated as a fake demo with effects and pre-rendered footage. Killzone 2 continues the story from its predecessor Killzone Liberation.
You can easily follow up in the 2 nd iteration without playing Liberation. The overall story is good enough to keep allowing combat and action for which the game is praised. However, the mostly bad and forced voice acting leaves a lot of room for improvement. The story does not feature moments where you could really bond with the protagonist or other characters, which would make them more memorable.
Oftentimes, people remember the game Killzone 2 as an FPS shooter with a lot of action and good graphics but do not remember its story. The first impressions of the game are incredible with the overall graphics, textures, models, lighting, environment, and character models. Blasts, flamethrowers, and all fire-related effects are unimpressive, even for standards. Other than that though, the environment is richly detailed, and you will feel very much in the middle of the actual war.
All explosions, combat, screaming, and the dark setting add to the wretched war you are a part of. The thrilling yet haunting music adds to the adrenaline rush, kind of like what we get in God of War 2.
You play as a member of Alpha Team, constantly with squad support in combat scenarios. Playing with the AI is often difficult though. The squad usually covers your back and is pretty intuitive for a pre game. However, they may block your path sometimes and you have to melee through your squad to advance. We started off on Recruit and it was just strange. I guess it depends what types of games you're into.
If you are into FPS games like myself, then I personally would never even contemplate buying a console. Playing a FPS with a joypad is truly a lame experience compared to using a mouse. Get real. There's no need to keep buying high end graphics cards. Better than anything on a console. A decent PC is the best gaming platform. They are simply trying to duplicate the PC but at a lower cost.
That fact speaks for itself. I love your avatar!! True, you can build a screaming dualcore system with good parts for very little these days. If you want top of the line, you will pay the premium, but also have the luxury of knowning your system will last a few years easy and that no console within the next years will come close to it. I actually enjoy playing first person shooter on the PS3, if you know how to use a gamepad you find it very easy.
Also PS3 has so many games coming out such as Killzone 2, Socom etc. PS: Getting Killzone 2 on friday!! But that doesn't mean I will ever go back to it. It truely is better imho on a PC. The graphics, the playability, the free addons from the community. But I know why ppl buy consoles and I see nothing worng with it. I just will never own one for gaming. Yeah I bet every PC owners can relate to my avatar, lol There's been plenty of times where I've felt like smashing it to smithereens.
Well I guess it depends on the game. You obviously can't at the moment if that game happens to be crysis, but I do play a lot of other games on my 2nd monitor which is a 19" CRT that can handle x and there's no reason why I can't play at higher resolutions if I had a better TFT.
One thing people forget about consoles and HD gaming is that you also need a very expensive TV which also adds to the overall cost of console gaming.
So in that respect, how can you say that a console is actually cheaper. Also keep in mind that that sweet 55" HDTV is only p. However, that x, which looks great on a 24" monitor with both vertical and horizontal line, doesn't look anywhere near as nice stretched out over 55" with only horizontal lines.
And a lot of games don't come anywhere near that. But it was fully supported to x and beyond on my PC. We can go on and on about this. But in the end it is perference. What do you like to do? What games do you like to play? What system do you like to play them on? Hey I have to Correct you on this Whenever a new console is due to come out, manufacturers hype their new hardware by showing glimpses of the games that they hope will be system-sellers.
However, the hypefests often happen long before those games are in anything close to their finished state. Couple that projection with imprecise or misleading messaging about what a trailer actually depicts, and you have the ingredients for a first look that sets expectations too high.
That was the recipe for an uproar that remains one of the most memorable tech-related ruckuses in video game history: the scandal surrounding the trailer for PlayStation 3 shooter Killzone 2. The Electronic Entertainment Expo more commonly called E3 in Los Angeles in May was all about the approaching seventh generation of video game consoles. Sony staged its own drool-inducing event by revealing the PS3, which would also launch in late But no demonstration compared to the trailer for Killzone 2.
But Guerrilla seemed to have raised its game in the trailer for the sequel, in which the point-of-view character joined an aerial landing and battled across a bridge amid a heated firefight that showcased next-level lighting and animation.
Fifteen years later, Rorie explains why he included the caveat about pre-rendered footage. Which was the truth? In the aftermath of the screening, conflicting comments led to dramatically different impressions. Virtually everything used in-game assets; some things were rendered. The animations and physics were way too good, and it completely blew away everything at the time. But Sony was sending mixed messages. A company rep told GameSpot that the Killzone trailer was running in real time.
All that stuff is all gameplay? Tretton had inadvertently done as much as anyone to fan the flame wars. In the years since, various Guerrilla representatives have hinted at how the trailer miscommunication occurred. Then we went online, and we found that lots of people believed it.
